Born on the 26th December 1960 in the city of Port Harcourt Rivers State, the lawmaker is currently serving his first term as a Senator representing Rivers East Senatorial District under the platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 10th Assembly.
Senator Onyesouh join mainstream politics in 1993 when he was elected as Chairman of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC) in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State. In 1997, following the formation of new political parties in Nigeria, Chief Onyesoh contested and won the Etche constituency II seat in Rivers State House of Assembly under the platform of the United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP).
In 2008, Sen Onyesour was appointed as the Chairman of the Senior Secondary School Management Board Rivers State. He was and later made the Commissioner for Sports under former Governor Dr. Peter Odili.
Before joining mainstream politics, Senator Nyesoh’swas a lecturer at Rivers State School of Basic Studies from 1984 to 1989
From 1991 to 1993 he was employed as a Lecturer at Rivers State College of Arts and Science Rumuola Road now Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Port Harcourt where he rose to the position of Senior Lecturer in 1994 to 1997.
