Hon James Shuaibu Barka
Hon. Barka was born in 1961, in Adamawa State. He is serving his first term in the House of Representatives, where he represents Gombi / Hong Federal Constituency.
A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barka was a member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly representing Hong Constituency. He was appointed Majority Leader of the Assembly in July 2003.
He moved a motion to dissolve the State Civil Service Commission, State Independent Electoral Commission, and the Judicial Service Commission, replacing them with management committees with members nominated by the Governor.
He is one time Speaker of the State Assembly, but resigned from the position following threats of impeachment on 2nd August, 2010.
The Lawmaker was also Acting Governor of Adamawa State after the nullification of then Governor, Murtala Nyako's election on February 26th, 2008. He handed back power to Nyako after his re-election on 29 April, 2008.
