Born on the 2nd of May, 1976. from Muchalla Ward, Mubi-North LGA of Adamawa State. The lawmaker is currently serving his second term as a Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District under the Platform of All Progressive Congress (APC). He was first elected into the Senate in 2019 under the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and reelected in 2023 under the APC.
Senator Ishaku was the Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Navy from June 2019 to June 2023
Before contesting for the Senate, Senator Ishaku was the Principal Special Assistant to the Governor of Adamawa State, between 2007 - 2011.
Senator Ishaku was a recipient of the 'Beacon of Hope Award presented by The Adamawa Celebrities & Achievers Awards in 2019.
