Sen Dankwambo Ibrahim Hassan
Born 4th April 1962 in Gombe, Gombe State, the lawmaker is currently serving his first term as a Senator representing Gombe North Senatorial District under the platform of the People Democratic Party (PDP) in the 10th Assembly.
Before contesting for the Senatorial Seat, Senator Dankwambo was elected as the Governor of Gombe state on the 26 April 2011 election. Prior to this, he worked at the Central Bank of Nigeria from 1988 to 1999. Later, he was appointed Accountant General of Gombe State, holding this position until 2005. He was later appointed Accountant–General of the Federation on the 20th of April 2005. He held this office until he resigned to start his campaign for election as Governor of Gombe State in January 2011.
Trageditory, Dankwambo lost his deputy when he was the governor of Gombe State, David Miyims Albashi, who died on 4 November 2011 in a German hospital due to injuries sustained in a car crash on 28 August 2011.and On 17 December 2011, Dankwambo appointed Tha'anda Rubainu to serve as his Deputy Governor. After his re-election in 2015, Charles Yau Iliya was his deputy governor till the end of his second term in 2019.
