Born in Oyo state, the lawmaker is currently serving his first term as Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 10th Assembly.
Senator Alli was former Secretary to the Oyo State government, and later served as Chief of Staff to Senator Rashidi Ladoka during his days as the Governor of Oyo State
Alli crossed to the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) just before the April 2011 elections, and was immediately appointed as Chairman of the Board of the Oodua Investment Company jointly owned by all the South Western States.
