Sen Abaribe Eyinnaya Harcourt
Born on January 3rd, 1955. The lawmaker is currently serving his fifth term (2007 - 2027) as a Senator representing Abia South Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly.
Prior to his re-election to the 10th National Assembly, Senator Abaribe served as the Minority leader in the 9th National Assembly and also the Vice Chairman of the Power Committee.
Abaribe started his political career in 1999 when he was elected as the deputy Governor of Abia State alongside the former governor of Abia State Orji Uzor Kalu (1999-2003) under the People Democratic Party (PDP) and 2007 he was first elected into the National Assembly to represent Abia South Senatorial District under PDP.
Before joining politics, Senator Abaribe was a Lecturer at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, 1982 – 1985, then became the area Manager for Southern Nigeria, SCOA, 1985 - 1991/1991 – 1992 and later the Senior Manager for Investment, Nicon, before he called to run alongside Senator Orji.
